Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Onehunga, is one of the first Catholic Communities to be established within the Auckland Diocese here in New Zealand. We want to acknowledge our predecessors with heartfelt gratitude and appreciation, for setting up such a diverse Parish Community for all to enjoy today. Our Faith Family has grown through encountering & embracing many of God’s people from different countries, cultures, those who speak different languages and who are from all walks of life, all made possible through the ministries and services we are able to offer here in our Parish Community.
As faithful Catholics, we come together in unity to share our Christian values, our talents and treasures, to continue to build the Body of Christ, His Church, through the Sacraments and through the Intercession of His Mother Mary.
We are always grateful for the love and sacrifices of our Parish Priests throughout the many years; our nuns and brothers and all religious who have had a hand in lifting the Cross high through great leadership and dedication while serving at the forefront and alongside our Faith Community. We have been blessed by many faithful and committed parishioners that selflessly give of their time & gifts through many voluntary works as a token of their love for our Parish Community as a whole & we pray that it continues this way until the end of time.
Our Parish Doors are ALWAYS open to anyone & everyone, practicing or enquiring about our Catholic Faith.
